For some of the Committee, it was our first sight of the new room in which we will hold all catered events in the future.   At first glance it seemed rather small after La Maison pour Tous.   Indeed there were some teething problems related to space, but willing hands created yet another miracle and the evening progressed. Pour certains d’entre nous, c’était la première fois que nous nous trouvions dans la nouvelle salle qui va accueillir toutes nos manifestations dorénavant. A première vue, elle semblait petite par rapport à la salle de Sion, et en fait nous avons bien eu quelques problèmes pour organiser l’espace, mais des bonnes volontés ont encore créé un petit miracle, et la soirée s’est bien déroulée.

Signing-in and paying 2018 subscriptions set the scene, with apéro Kirs  and nibbles to be had in the nearby bar area. L’Accueil avec le paiement des cotisations 2018 a donné le ton, avec les apéritifs et amuse-bouches servis à côté.

  

Meanwhile tables were laid and wine poured. Pendant ce temps, le couvert était mis, et le vin servi.

                ……. and what splendid food!   Once again members impressed with a delicious selection of interesting and wonderfully flavoured food – plus of course the Galettes des Rois. Et quels plats magnifiques ! Une fois de plus, nos adhérents ont été remarquables avec une délicieuse sélection de plats intéressants et vraiment savoureux – plus, bien sûr les Galettes des Rois.

The evening progressed in a highly convivial fashion.  The atmosphere was very cordial (sic) and encouraged singing and general merry-making from all sides….. viz La soirée s’est déroulée d’une manière extrêmement conviviale. L’atmosphère était très amicale et a encouragé les chanteurs dans les deux langues, dans un joyeux mélange.

  An absolutely brilliant evening.   Thanks to all who made it go with a swing.   Next event…”Charcuterie and crepes” 15th Feb at La Baritaudiere.    Can’t wait!! Une soirée vraiment géniale! Merci à tous ceux qui ont contribué à sa réussite. La prochaine manifestation “Buffet froid et Crêpes, le 15 février à la Baritaudière. Nous sommes impatients !!!…
