WOW!  A sunny Saturday in St Jean de Monts at the Casino saw more than 50 members and guests enjoy an excellent lunch partnered by Rosé and Merlot from Occitanie. GENIAL ! Par un samedi bien ensoleillé à St Jean de Monts, le Casino a accueilli  54 adhérents et invités, pour un bon déjeuner arrosé de Rosé et de Merlot d’Occitanie.

Although the promised entertainment was somewhat late in arriving, the music and singing were both good and encouraged  French members onto the floor. (However David, who was  much admired in The Madison, and Cecile who also tripped the light fantastic with her usual enthusiasm, represented the Brits)! Bien que l’animation promise ait eu du retard (à cause d’une panne sur la route…), la musique et les chansons étaient bonnes et ont poussé les Français sur la piste de danse. (Cependant David qui a été très admiré pour sa prestation de Madison, et Cécile, infatigable, qui a dansé fantastiquement avec son enthousiasme habituel, ont sauvé l’honneur des britanniques !…

              The floor was well filled with an impressive display of dancing of all types – tango to samba to energetic rock and roll (and even a robots’ dance created by Brigitte and Jean-Pierre…). La piste n’a pas désempli grâce à une diffusion impressionnante de danses de toutes sortes – du tango à la samba, en passant par des slows et des rock’n’rolls dynamiques (et même une danse des robots, inventée par Brigitte et Jean-Pierre…).

We are very proud of our  sociable and helpful Members.   There is always help at the end of functions to put away tables and chairs and to wash up etc etc.   For that we are truly very grateful.   Our events would be difficult to organise if that were not the case. Nous sommes très fiers de nos adhérents si sociables et serviables. Il y a toujours des personnes pour aider à la fin de nos rencontres pour ranger tables et chaises , faire la vaisselle, etc. Nous leur en sommes évidemment très reconnaissants, car nous pourrions difficilement organiser quoi que ce soit si ce n’était pas le cas

Now, we are asking for more help.   Before our last event, the Soiree Couscous, Josette asked two members to arrive early and help as there were Committee Members away and some ill.   Those two members were extremely useful and contributed to the great success of the evening. Maintenant, nous vous demandons davantage d’aide. Avant notre dernier Dîner Couscous, Josette a demandé à deux membres s’ils pouvaient arriver plus tôt pour aider à la mise en place, car plusieurs membres du Bureau étaient absents ou malades. Ces deux adhérents ont été extrêmement utiles et ont contribué au succès de cette soirée.

What we are now asking for is for Members who will be coming to an event to contact Josette and let her know that they are available to help set up the hall before any of our events. Ce que nous aimerions maintenant c’est que les adhérents participant à une manifestation contactent Josette pour lui dire s’ils sont disponibles pour aider à la mise en place en venant de bonne heure.
